Refugio, Texas Little League needs our help! The little town of Refugio took a brutal hit from Hurricane Harvey and so many have lost so much! While other necessities for the townspeople are being taking care of, it has come to our attention that the baseball community there is in need as well! The kids of Refugio call their Little League fields their home away from home...and, after having spoken to Ryan Linney, President of RLL, that haven for them is a total loss (including ALL their equipment, uniforms, facilities)!
Loveland knows what it is to lose so much to a natural disaster, though not on such a devastating scale as Refugio! We know how long it took to recover from the flooding of 2013. It was nearly a year before the Centennial Park ballfields were dug out, cleaned up, re-leveled, resodded, and buildings repaired! In Refugio, the damage is even more catastrophic and covers the entire town. No one was spared and many lost everything...and the baseball program was no exception!
Like Power Alley, Refugio Little League is a nonprofit program and is a bright spot and source of pride for the kids in town! The program serves a community with a large demographic of underprivileged kids, and rebuilding will be a very tough row to hoe. So, we have adopted them as a sister program and want to do as family does: provide a helping hand! We want these kids' home away from home to be put back together as quickly as possible, not skipping a beat and keeping that little bit of continuity to their now-disrupted lives. And, we want the (volunteer) administrators of this program to have a little less to worry about!
Immediately needed are monetary donations and giftcards for building supplies!
We will collect other items later when they are in a position to receive and store them.
Thank you for your support of Refugio! Please, share this with everyone in our baseball community and lets give Refugio a little more sunshine! I can't wait to see what we can do!
